What this page covers, and what it does not

Two separate things carry the Second Friend name. This policy is about the first:

• secondfriend.in — the public website you are reading. It is marketing and information, and it has one form on it.
• app.secondfriend.in — where students sign in and talk to counselors. It handles session content and counselor notes, which is far more sensitive than anything here, and it has its own policy covering that.

What we collect

From institution staff, on the pricing enquiry form:

• Your name and designation, so we know who we are writing back to.
• Your institution's name, so we can work out what pricing would look like.
• Your email address and contact number, so we can reply.
• Anything you write in the message box, which is optional.

That is the entire list for this website. There is no student sign-up form here any more — students sign in on the app with the email address their institution issued them.

What we do not collect

• No advertising or tracking cookies. This website sets no cookies at all, so there is no consent banner to click past.
• No analytics, and no count of who read what. We do not measure page views at all.
• No profile of you. Nothing here links one visit to another, or to you.
• No passwords, ever. Signing in on the app uses a one-time code emailed to your institution address, so there is no password of yours for anyone to store, leak or reuse.
• Nothing about your mental health. There is no counseling, chat or session on this website. Reading it tells us nothing about you.

What we do with it

We reply to you about bringing Second Friend to your institution, and continue that conversation if you want to. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your details to anyone else.

Who else sees it

Two companies handle it on our behalf, and no others:

• Vercel hosts this website and serves the page, as any web host does. Vercel also measures how fast pages load for real visitors — loading times, and the device and connection type that produced them. It is about the speed of the page, not the person reading it: no cookie, no identifier, nothing that follows you between visits or says which pages you read.
• Formspree receives what you type into the pricing enquiry form and passes it to us by email. They store a copy so a submission is not lost if our inbox misses it. Their servers are outside India.

Your details are not shared with any institution, with counselors, or with advertisers, and they are never sold. Reading a page on this website is not personal data to us, and we could not tell you which pages anyone read even if we wanted to — nothing here records it.

Getting your data removed

Email support@secondfriend.in and ask us to delete what you sent. We will remove it and confirm. You do not need to give a reason.

Two things that hold either side of the line

These are true of the app as well as this website, and they are not going to change: your institution is never told that you signed in, that you booked, or anything you said in a session — they see aggregate counts only. And anonymity runs both ways: you never learn your counselor's real name, and they never learn yours.
